Fun at Barefoot Bowls
Minnamurra Lions Club held an enjoyable Barefoot Bowls event at Kiama Bowlo on Wednesday evening. Seventeen members turned out on a fine and balmy evening, after threatening rain cleared earlier in the afternoon. The standard of bowling was mixed, with some losing track of their bias, but the level of entertainment and camaraderie was high. After the winners cheered and the losers couldn’t care less, all adjourned to the bar and bistro for rehab. It was agreed this event is to be a regular fixture on our social calendar. Mighty thanks to the Bowlo management and bistro staff who helped make this event such a success.
Club members also turned out recently to help as Gate Marshalls for the Kiama Rugby Sevens. In contrast the weather on that occasion was atrocious, with driving rain and ankle deep mud at some locations. It scored a tag as the ‘Saturated Sevens’. Never the less our members performed with distinction in providing this valuable community service at an event that now is seen as a national icon for Rugby.
