1st Vice District Governor Visits Minnamurra Lions

At the end of November, Ann Reed, the 1st Vice District Governor of Lions NSW District N2 made a flying visit to Kiama for a goodwill visit to the Minnamurra Lions Club.

Ann and partner Don sampled the hospitality of Kiama whilst staying at the Kiama Shores Motel and visited the Lions Club for their regular dinner meeting held at Kiama Golf Club.

Before arriving for the dinner, Club President Bill Lyon took Ann and Don to see some of the projects the Club has been working on in recent years. This including a look at the Club’s bespoke BBQ trailer, a visit to the Minnamurra Headland to see the whale-watching platform and the helipad – both built by Club members, as well as a look at the newly rejuvenated garden beds at the end of Eureka Ave.

Ann and Don then met Lions from the Club at the golf club before dinner and had a chance to chat to the members who all donned their traditional formal shirts – in the fashion of the Hawaiian Islands. After dinner Ann delivered a most interesting address outlining the plans to grow the membership of Lions Clubs both in Australia and internationally. This is embodied in the slogan “Evolving for future growth”.
