The Minnamurra Lions Club recently nominated long-time member John Knox for a NSW Volunteer of the Year Recognition Award.

For many years John (Knoxy to his mates) has been an extremely active volunteer not just for Minnamurra Lions, but for a whole range of community activities in the Kiama area and beyond.

Whether it be turning sausages for the Lions Club monthly BBQ’s at the Kiama Seaside Markets, driving the residents of the local aged care facility to their appointments and shopping or helping out the organisers of the Birdsville Big Red Bash you’re sure to find Knoxy there doing his bit to help the community.

When the annual NSW Volunteer of the Year Recognition Awards requested nominations this year, Minnamurra Lions had no hesitation in nominating John. As a result, he was duly given a much deserved Volunteer Award as a fitting recognition of the countless hours he devotes to the community year upon year.
